iNQ Africa

iNQ Africa recreates spectacular cultural experiences of the Zulu Kingdom through tour packages of the historic battlefields and the production of African jewellery and commemorative coins. iNQ Africa is based in Johannesburg South Africa and facilitates as well as coordinates these tours under the auspices of iNQ Africa South Africa.

The iNQ Africa project is a wide concept derived from the Zulu word INQOLOBANE which is the Zulu nation’s most treasured large harvest preservative or storage facility. The Zulu Kingdom forefathers used the INQOLOBANE to keep their harvest and food fresh for longer periods of time, until the next harvest season.

This concept encompasses the nature of the business and projects undertaken by iNQ Africa which include the re-creation, production, preservation and exposure of:

  • Indigenous artifacts
  • Jewels
  • Tokens
  • Other materials from the different African nations of South Africa.

You can experience the Zulu nation’s heritage preserved and exposed by iNQ Africa’s tours of Historic Battlefields and Kingdom of the Zulu showcasing the fascinating history and resilience of this proud nation.

iNQ AFRICA – Travel, Tourism and Heritage Art

Northern KwaZulu Natal is home to the largest concentration of battlefields in the Southern Hemisphere. This includes the place where Great Britain, the Zulu Kingdom, and the Boers clashed in bloody conflict. These events shaped the future of South Africa as we know it today.

There are many other adventures offered on tours of the historic battlefields that you will enjoy, these include:

  • Birding and bush adventures
  • White water rafting
  • Pony trekking
  • Cycle tours.

Other events that you can explore include the Zulu cultural and heritage experiences, historic exploration, crafting meanders, game drives and off-road rails.

iNQ Africa’s historic artifacts and other precious mementos include priceless coins and medallions as well as many other creative artifacts that carry a lot of historical and cultural memoirs of the Zulu Kingdom in particular.

Through iNQ Africa you will have the privilege to wander around the Ladysmith Siege Museum looking for the shells that the Boers used to fire at the British. On Christmas, these shells are loaded with Christmas pudding!

You can also take one of the self-guided tours around Talana and Spionkop. Here you will relive the horrors of battles such as the Isandlwana, Rorkes Drift, Majuba and Blood River. Battlefield guides are available for your hire.

The Ncome Museum which was opened in 1999 offers a positive re-interpretation of the 1838 war and exhibits cultural items of the Zulu and Sotho Kingdoms. The museum takes its shapes from the Zulu war horn formation which was initiated by Inkosi yaKwaDukuza, King Shaka KaSenzangakhona. It is named after the nearby iNcome River. The rich symbolism and culture of the Zulu Kingdom is captured through the Museum's displayed items.
